How to make your worksheet

  1. Let the page pick the word families, or choose “Type your own words”.
  2. Choose how many families: one for each player.
  3. Print on thick paper and cut the cards apart.
  4. Put out spoons, one fewer than the players, and play by the rules on the last page.

The reading skill

To know which cards to keep, a player has to look at the end of every word. Words that end the same way rhyme, and seeing that pattern is a big help in reading new words.
