The goal: on day 10 your child splits a long word into its beats, and reads words like rabbit, sunset and jumping never seen before.
For the child who reads short words like ship and frog, but guesses or freezes at a longer word. About five minutes a day from you.
That is the goal, not a promise. Some children split words in a week, and some need the ten days twice. The plan teaches two-beat words with short vowels.

Six letters at once. A guess, or nothing.
Split it. Rab. Bit. Rabbit.
Your child reads cat and ship. Then a long word comes, and your child guesses from the first letters, or freezes. That does not mean your child is not trying. A long word has more letters than the eyes can sound out at once. So this plan teaches one move: split it into beats, read each beat, put it back together.
See it and hear itThis is the day 2 track your child works with. It waits, then gives the answer. Nothing listens back.
Not every child who is stuck on long words is stuck in the same place. Day 1 is a four-minute check that shows you which day to start on.
Guesses or freezes at sunset and kitten. Start at day 2.
kitten → “kit…?”
Easy splits are steadyReads sunset and jumping, but stops at napkin and basket. Start at day 6.
napkin → ?
Go to the story on day 9, then do the final check.
Short words are hardShort words with blends and sh, ch, th come first. Stop and Jump is the place to start.

The ten daysIt starts from a word your child can already read, and adds a beat: sun, then sunset; jump, then jumping. Then two letters the same in the middle (rab-bit), then two different ones (bas-ket). Then your child finds the split alone, reads bigger beats, and a story.
Everything in your packIt is more than worksheets. It is the pages, someone showing you each day, and a voice that works with your child while you stay nearby.

Ten days of pages with the hand-drawn Sound It Out friends. A thin dashed line splits the beats, and a dot sits under every sound. Color and ink-saving black and white, US Letter and A4.

One a day, about a minute. You see a long word split on screen, beat by beat, with the real sounds, before you begin. With captions.
Days 2, 3, 4 and 6. The voice gives your child time to read each beat, then sounds out sunset or rabbit so your child can check alone.

Day 1 shows whether easy splits are new or only splits in the middle. Day 10 uses long words that are on no other page.
Each card shows a long word in its two beats, and a picture: back | pack, rab | bit, bas | ket. Fold a card to show one beat at a time.
Put in the day 1 and day 10 numbers: the report shows how the long words moved, and where to go next.

Three steps to begin, and a code to scan for the welcome video. You are never left wondering what to do first.

One star to color for each day.

With your child’s name, and signed by you.

It is not a promise: some children split words within a week, some need the ten days twice. It teaches two-beat words with short vowels; beats like ro-bot, gar-den and ap-ple come later. Guessing at long words is not a sign of dyslexia by itself; if your child is eight or older, or reading is very hard in other ways, tell the teacher. No app, no screen. If blends and pairs like sh are not yet steady, start with Stop and Jump; the free check tells you. Printer and scissors needed.
The printed pages, a pencil, crayons, and scissors for the beat cards. No tablet or phone for your child.
A beat in a word. Each beat has one vowel sound. Cat has one beat. Rab-bit has two. Clapping a word helps the ear hear the beats.
Start with two small words in one, like sun-set. Then a word your child knows with an ending: jump-ing. Then words that split between two letters in the middle: rab-bit, bas-ket. Your child reads one beat at a time, then says the whole word. That is the order of this plan.
Because a long word has more letters than the eyes can sound out at once, so the child grabs the first letters and guesses. Splitting the word into beats turns one long word into two short ones the child can read.
Most children who need this are six to eight. Your child should already read short words with blends and pairs, like frog, ship and lunch. The free check shows you whether that step is steady.
About five minutes. Two minutes on job 1 with you, then your child reads on alone, and reads three long words to you at the end.
Cover the second beat with a finger, have your child read the first, then uncover. Do the same day again tomorrow. Day 5 tells you whether to move on.
You can stop there. If you want daily practice to keep going, The One Sheet gives your child one sheet a day, made from what you tell us. It is a separate plan, $9.99 a month, and you can cancel any time.
No. Nothing in this pack watches, listens to or records your child. You are the one who listens.
