How to make your worksheet

  1. Choose what goes on the cards: your words, a ready word set, letters or numbers.
  2. Choose the face of the card: the word, a picture and the word, or the picture alone.
  3. Choose four, six or eight cards on a page.
  4. Print on thick paper if you can, and cut along the dashed lines.

Small sets work best

Six to ten cards at a time is plenty. Keep the cards your child knows in one pile and bring back two or three old ones each day.

Dots for the sounds

Turn on the sound dots and each word gets one dot for each sound. Your child taps the dots and says the sounds, then says the word.

Good questions

How do I make my own flashcards to print?

Type your words above, choose the cards on a page and press Print. To keep them, choose “Save as PDF” as the printer.

Can I make flashcards with pictures?

Yes. Choose “Picture and word”. Words that have a picture in our library show it; other cards get an empty box where your child can draw.

Can I print them double sided?

The cards are one sided. For a back, print the word cards and the picture cards as two sets and glue them together.

Are the alphabet cards free too?

Yes. Choose small letters, capitals, or both together. Everything is free.
