Color by sight word generator

Words, letters, numbers or sums: color each one by the key

Make a color by code page. Each word, letter, number or sum has its own color in the key. Your child reads each one and colors its shape. Choose big shapes to color, or a grid of squares that hides a heart, a diamond or another plain shape.

Your worksheet:

How to make your worksheet

  1. Choose what goes in the shapes: words, letters, numbers or addition sums.
  2. For words, pick a ready list or type your own. Choose how many colors.
  3. Choose big shapes to color, or a grid with a hidden shape.
  4. Print. Press “New version” to move everything around.

Read first, then color

The coloring is the reward; the reading is the work. Ask your child to say each word out loud before picking up the crayon.

A hidden shape

In the grid, the squares of one code make a shape, and the other codes fill the space around it. The shape shows up as the squares are colored.

Black and white

The page prints well in black and white: the key names each color in words.
