Stamp the word worksheet maker

Read it, stamp it, read it again

Print pages for alphabet stamps. Each row has a word and a row of empty boxes, one for each letter. Your child reads the word, finds each letter stamp and stamps it in a box, then reads the word again. No stamps? Letter stickers, magnetic letters or a pencil work too.

How to make your worksheet

  1. Pick a ready word list, or type your own words.
  2. Print. There are six words on a page.
  3. Stamp one letter in each box, from left to right.
  4. Read the stamped word.

The reading skill

Finding the stamp for each letter makes a child hold the spelling of the word in mind, letter by letter, in order.

Good for small hands

Stamping is easier than writing. A child who finds a pencil tiring can still spell every word on the page.

Words to use

Sight words, a word family, or this week’s spelling list.

Good questions

How big are the boxes?

Up to about one inch, so most alphabet stamp sets fit. Long words get smaller boxes.

Can I use my own words?

Yes. Choose “Type your own words” at the top of the word list and type them. What you type stays on your device.

Can I print in black and white?

Yes. Choose “Black and white” under “Print in”. Every picture becomes a line drawing your child can color in.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no limit.
