How to make your worksheet

  1. Pick a set of ready sentences or type your own.
  2. Choose two or three sentences.
  3. Print and cut out a spacer.
  4. Your child reads a sentence and copies it, using the spacer after each word.

The writing skill

Leaving a space after each word shows that a child knows where one word stops and the next starts. It is also what makes early writing readable.

Read it first

The ready sentences use checked words of one phonics skill. Read the sentence together before copying it.

Keep a spacer

Print on card stock and keep one spacer in the pencil case.

Can I print in black and white?

Yes. Choose “Black and white” under “Print in”. Every picture becomes a line drawing your child can color in.

Is it free?
