Sight word sentence worksheet maker

Read it, trace it, write it, build it

Print a page built around one sight word in a sentence. Your child reads the sentence, traces it, writes it, then cuts out its words and glues them back in order. There is a short checked sentence for each of the 40 words of Sight Words Set 1 and 2, or type your own.

How to make your worksheet

  2. Choose how many pages. Each page has one sentence.
  3. Print.
  4. Read, trace, write, then cut and build.

The reading skill

A sight word is learned best inside a sentence, where it does its job. Four small tasks on one sentence give four reads of every word.

Checked sentences

Each ready sentence uses its sight word with other first sight words and short words that can be sounded out.

The capital letter goes first

When the words are mixed up, the one with a capital letter starts the sentence and the one with the end mark finishes it.

Good questions

Which sentences are there?

One for each word of Set 1 and Set 2, for example “I see the dog.” for the word “the”.

Can I type my own sentence?

Yes. Keep it short: up to about 30 letters fits on the tracing line.

Can I print in black and white?

Yes. Choose “Black and white” under “Print in”. Every picture becomes a line drawing your child can color in.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no limit.
