Tell look-alike letters apart
Print practice pages for letters that look alike. Choose b and d, p and q, m and w, n and u, or type any two letters. There are three kinds of page: find and mark each letter in a grid, trace both letters with a start dot and an arrow, or cut out letter tiles and sort them into two boxes.
Your worksheet:
Mixing up b and d is normal for beginners: no other shapes a child knows change their name when they are turned around. What helps is many looks at the two side by side.
b starts with the tall line and then the ball. d starts with the ball and then the tall line. The tracing page shows this with a start dot and an arrow.
Most children stop mixing them up as they read more. If it goes on well into second grade together with other reading troubles, talk to the teacher.
