One story, two readers, taking turns

Print a script for two readers. Pick one of our decodable stories and the maker shares its lines between Reader 1 and Reader 2. Each reader has a color and a shape, so it is easy to see whose turn it is. Read it with a friend, a brother or sister, or a grown-up.

The reading skill

Reading in turns gives a child a reason to read the same text again and to follow along while someone else reads. Both build fluency.

Your own script
