How to make your worksheet

  1. Choose what to match: words and pictures, capital and small letters, numbers and groups, or your own pairs.
  2. For your own pairs, type one pair on each line with = between the two sides.
  3. Choose how many rows go on a page. Four or five rows suit a 4 or 5 year old.
  4. Print. Press “New version” to mix the order again.

Why draw a line

Drawing a line from one side to the other is something a 4 or 5 year old can do alone. Writing a letter beside each item, as many matching pages ask, is much harder at this age.

One right answer

Two pictures that could be mistaken for each other, such as a cup and a mug, are never put on the same page.
