Letter animal alphabet poster maker

Every letter is an animal that starts with its sound

Make alphabet posters with our letter animals. Each capital letter is drawn as an animal or a thing that starts with its sound: A is an alligator, B is a bear, C is a cat. Print one letter on a page as a poster, four or six on a page as wall cards, or a letter of the day page to trace and write.

How to make your worksheet

  1. Type the letters you want, or choose A to Z.

  3. Choose color or black and white, and a design.
  4. Print. Say the letter, its sound and the word together.

The reading skill

Each capital letter is drawn as an animal or a thing that starts with its sound: A is an alligator, B is a bear, S is a snake. The picture gives the letter a hook to hang its sound on. X is a box with an X, because x is heard at the end.

Words a grown-up reads first

Alligator, elephant and kangaroo are not words a beginner can sound out. Say them together. What matters is the first sound.

The words

A alligator, B bear, C cat, D dog, E elephant, F fox, G goat, H horse, I iguana, J jellyfish, K kangaroo, L lion, M monkey, N nest, O octopus, P pig, Q queen, R rabbit, S snake, T turtle, U umbrella, V violin, W whale, X box, Y yak, Z zebra.
