Alphabet tracing card maker

One letter a card, with start dot and arrow

Make a set of alphabet tracing cards. Each card has one letter on writing lines, drawn in our own letter strokes, with a big dot where to start and an arrow for the way to go. A picture for the letter sound sits beside it. Laminate the cards and trace with a finger or a dry-erase marker.

Your worksheet:

How to make your worksheet

  1. Type the letters you want, or choose every letter from a to z.
  2. Choose 4, 6 or 8 cards on a page.
  3. Choose capital letters, small letters or both, and solid or dotted letters.
  4. Print, cut on the dashed lines and laminate.

The reading skill

Tracing a letter while saying its sound ties the shape, the movement and the sound together.

Finger first

Trace with a finger before a pencil. Solid letters are best for fingers, dotted letters for markers.

Our own letters

The letters match our tracing worksheets and the letter formation chart.
