Your worksheet:

How to make your worksheet

  1. Pick a word set, or choose “Type your own words” and type them.
  2. Choose what is on the cards: a picture and the word, the word only, or a picture only.
  3. Choose the recording sheet: trace the word, write the first letter, write the whole word, or color a star.
  4. Print. Cut the cards apart and tape them around the room.

The reading skill

Each card is one word to read, and each line is one word to write. Moving around the room keeps a child reading for longer than a page at a desk does.

Four levels from the same cards

Trace the word is the easiest. Write the first letter asks a child to hear the first sound. Write the whole word is the hardest. A class can use the same cards with different sheets.

Pictures

A card shows a picture when our library has one for that word. A word with no picture gets a clean card with the word alone.
