Lift the flap page maker

Read the word, lift the flap, see the picture

Make a lift the flap page that checks itself. One page holds the pictures. The other page holds a word flap for each one. Glue each flap over its picture by the top strip. Your child reads the word, lifts the flap and sees if the picture matches.

Your worksheet:

How to make your worksheet

  1. Pick a word set, or choose “Type your own words” and type them.
  2. Choose how many flaps go on a page.
  3. Print both pages. Cut out the flaps and fold each one on its dotted line.
  4. Glue each flap on the gray strip with the same number.

The reading skill

The word is read first, with no picture to give it away. The picture under the flap then shows whether the word was read right, so a child can work alone.

Pictures that match the word

With a ready word set, only words that have one of our own crayon pictures are used. A word you type that has no picture gets a box to draw in.

Use it again

Once the flaps are glued, the page can be read on many days. Keep it in a folder or glue it into a notebook.
