Alphabet maze maker

Follow a to z, or follow one letter

Make a letter maze. In the alphabet maze your child colors a path from a to z in ABC order. In the one-letter maze the path is made of a single letter, hidden among other letters. Every press of “New version” makes a new maze.

Your worksheet:

How to make your worksheet

  1. Choose the alphabet maze, or the maze for one letter.
  2. For one letter, type the letter.
  3. Choose small letters or capitals, and the size of the grid.
  4. Print. The answer key shows the path.

The reading skill

The alphabet maze practices ABC order, which children need for word walls and dictionaries. The one-letter maze makes a child look closely at one letter shape again and again.

One way through

In the alphabet maze the next letter is never beside the path in two places, so there is one way from a to z.

A plain grid

The maze is a grid of letters with no pictures to distract. Moves go up, down, left or right.
