One cat, three cats. One box, three boxes.
Make a one and many worksheet. A picture shows one thing or three of the same thing, and your child circles the right word: cat or cats, box or boxes. On the second kind of page your child writes the word for many. Only words that add s or es are used.
Your worksheet:
Most words add s: cats, dogs, hats. Words that end in s, x, sh or ch add es: buses, boxes, dishes, benches. That is all a beginner needs at first.
Words that change in other ways, such as mouse and mice, foot and feet, or leaf and leaves, are not on these pages. They are learned one by one later.
Twenty-seven words with a picture, such as cat, dog, cup, hat, sock and book with s, and box, fox, bus, dress, glass, bench, peach, brush and dish with es.
