Calendar page maker

One month, with a letter or a word for every day

Print a calendar page for any month. Every day has its own box with the date and a letter of the day or a word of the day. Each morning your child finds today, says the letter and its sound, or reads the word.

How to make your worksheet

  1. Pick the month and type the year.
  2. Choose a letter of the day or a word of the day.
  3. For letters, use a to z or type your own. For words, pick a list or choose “Type your own words”.
  4. Print and put it on the fridge or the wall.

The reading skill

One letter or one word a day is a small job that never gets skipped, because the calendar is looked at every morning anyway. In a month every letter comes round at least once.

Letters in order, or your own

With a to z the letters follow the alphabet from the first day of the month. Type your own letters to stay with the few your child is learning now.

Words

A short list of sight words is used again and again through the month, so each word is read several times.
