Name tag maker

Desk name plates with the alphabet, or eight name tags

Make name tags and desk name plates. Type one name on each line. A desk plate shows the name in big print or as dotted letters to trace, with the alphabet underneath. Name tags are smaller, eight on a page. Each one has one of our crayon friends.

How to make your worksheet

  1. Choose desk name plates or name tags.
  2. Type the names, one on each line. Leave the box empty for blank ones to write on.
  3. For desk plates, choose printed letters or dotted letters to trace, and keep the alphabet strip if you want it.
  4. Print on thick paper and cut along the dashed lines.

The reading skill

A child’s own name is often the first word read and written. The alphabet strip on the desk plate is there to look at while writing: find the letter, then copy its shape.

Trace it every day

Slide a traced name plate into a plastic sleeve and your child can trace the name with a dry-erase pen each morning.

Names stay on your device

The names are drawn on your own computer or phone. They are not sent to us and not saved.
