Every sound with the mouth that makes it
Print a sound wall. Each card shows a child’s mouth making the sound, the letters that spell it and a key picture: lips together for p, b and m, teeth on the lip for f and v, a big smile for ee. The consonants are grouped by how the mouth makes them, and the vowels sit in the vowel valley, from a big smile, to a wide open mouth, to round lips.
Your worksheet:
A word wall puts words in ABC order. A sound wall puts sounds in the order the mouth makes them. Children see that p, b and m look the same on the lips, and why c and k say one sound.
Say ee, i, a, e, a, o, u, aw, o, oo: the mouth opens from a smile to wide, then closes into a round o. The vowels are laid out in that order. The last three sounds slide: the mouth moves during the sound.
Give your child a small mirror. They make the sound, look at their own mouth, and find the card that matches.
The cards cover 23 consonant sounds in 12 mouth shapes and 15 vowel sounds. Sounds with the same mouth share one mouth picture.
No. Each card shows the letters that spell the sound, such as sh or ai, the way a child meets them in books.
Yes. Choose “Black and white” under “Print in”. The mouths become line drawings.
Yes, with no sign-up and no limit.
No maker matches that yet. Clear the box to see them all.
“Behind in reading” can mean fourteen different things, and each one needs different help. Check off what is true for your child. You will see what to work on first, and what can wait.
