Magnifying glass word hunt maker

Find the tiny words, read them, write them

Make a tiny word hunt. Your words are printed very small and scattered in a big empty box. Your child looks through a magnifying glass, finds each word, reads it out loud and writes it on a line. There is no drawn scene: only the words.

How to make your worksheet

  1. Pick a word set or type your own words.
  2. Choose how many words and how tiny the print is.
  3. Print on a printer that prints sharp small text.
  4. Hand over a magnifying glass and a pencil.

The reading skill

A word found with a magnifying glass is read letter by letter, slowly, which is just what a beginner should do. Then it is written, which fixes the spelling.

How tiny?

The smallest size is hard to read with bare eyes and clear under a magnifier. Pick the larger size if you have no magnifier.
