Color the squares by the key and a picture appears
Make a color by number page. Every square of the grid holds a number, and the key says which color each number gets. When the squares are colored, a picture appears: a heart, a fish, a rocket, or a picture for the season such as a pumpkin, a turkey, a Christmas tree or a snowman. For older children the squares hold sums to work out first.
Your worksheet:
Each color of the picture has one number. With numbers, the square shows that number. With sums, the square shows a sum or a take-away whose answer is that number, so every square has exactly one right color.
Each picture uses three to seven of these: red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, brown, pink, black and white. The key on the page names them. A square whose color is white is left as it is.
Sixteen: a heart, a fish, a house, a flower, an apple tree, a butterfly, a rocket and an apple, and for the seasons an acorn, a pumpkin, a turkey, a Christmas tree, a snowman, a shamrock, an Easter egg and a sun. Choose “A surprise” to keep the picture a secret.

Yes. The key prints the name of each color beside an empty circle, so the page needs no color ink.
