What comes before, what comes after, what comes between
Make a before and after numbers page. Each box shows one or two numbers and one or two empty squares. Your child writes the number that comes before, the number that comes after, both, or the number that comes between two others. Choose numbers to 10 for a first page and go on to 20 and 100.
Your worksheet:
The number after is the easiest, because your child just counts on. The number before is harder, and the number between asks for both at once. A number line on the table helps at first.
Knowing which number is next and which was just before is what adding one and taking away one are built on.
