How to make your worksheet

  1. Pick a ready word set, or type this week’s words.
  2. With your own words, type the sentences for Wednesday if you want them.
  3. Leave the reading log on, or turn it off.
  4. Print one page for each child. It takes about five minutes an evening.

The reading skill

The same six words come back four evenings in a row: read, written, read in sentences, used in a sentence. Seeing a word again and again in different ways is what makes it stick.

Sentences that match the words

With a ready set, Wednesday’s sentences are our checked sentences for the same phonics skill.

A grown-up reads the jobs

The small print that says what to do each day is for the grown-up. The words and sentences are for the child.
