How to make your worksheet

  1. Type this week’s words, or pick a ready word set.
  2. Choose one big list on a page, or two copies to cut apart.
  3. Keep the writing lines on, or turn them off for a list alone.
  4. Print. Check a box each day the words are practiced.

The reading skill

Spelling is reading the other way round: hearing the sounds in a word and choosing the letters. Words that a child can spell are words that child reads without effort.

Look, say, cover, write, check

Look at the word. Say its sounds. Cover it. Write it on the line. Then check it letter by letter.

Two copies

Choose two on a page and cut along the dashed line: one for the fridge and one for the school bag.
