How to make your worksheet

  1. Pick a ready list, or choose “Type your own words” and type one on each line.
  2. Have your child read each sentence out loud before drawing.
  3. Choose color or black and white, and a design.
  4. Print. To keep a copy, choose “Save as PDF” as the printer.

The reading skill

A story problem is a comprehension task: the child must read every word and picture what happens. The sums are small on purpose.

What is ready

Four short story problems.

Good questions

Who reads the question?

A grown-up reads the last line, such as “How many cats in all?”. The two sentences of the story are for your child.

Can I type my own words?

Yes. Choose “Type your own words” and type one on each line. A word that has one of our pictures gets its picture. What you type stays on your device.

Can I print in black and white?

Yes. Choose “Black and white” under “Print in”. Every picture becomes a line drawing to color in.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no limit.
