Fill in the number chart, forward or backward
Make a missing numbers page. A number chart runs to 20, 50 or 100 and some of its squares are empty. Your child counts along and writes the numbers that are missing. Leave a few gaps, half, most, or print the chart empty to write every number. A second kind of page counts backward.
Your worksheet:
On a chart with ten numbers in each row, every number sits under the number that is ten less. Children who fill in the chart a few times start to see that pattern.
Counting down from 10 or from 20 is the first step to taking away. The backward rows give the first numbers and leave gaps further along.
