Real cursive letters

The letters are Playwrite US Trad, an open font made for teaching traditional American cursive. The joins between the letters are the font’s own, so a typed word is joined the way it is taught.

When to start cursive

Many schools that teach cursive start in second or third grade, after print letters are steady. A child’s own name is a good first word.

Good questions

Can I type my child’s name?

Yes. Type it in the box. For a class, type one name on each line and each name gets its own rows. What you type stays on your device.

Are there start dots and arrows?

Not on the cursive page. The letters are printed in light gray to trace over. For print letters, our handwriting worksheet maker has start dots and arrows.

Which letters and marks can I type?

Letters, numbers, a period, a comma, a question mark, an exclamation mark, an apostrophe and a hyphen.

Can I print in black and white?

Yes. Choose “Black and white” under “Print in”. The lines print in gray.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no limit.
